snicker monsters
December 14th, 2011Thumper and crew had a rare treat…Earlier this year Inta and I donated a fishing trip to a charity auction hosted by our dear friends Charlie and Lisa Pereira. The winning bid was by newlyweds James and Julie Cangialosi …They showed up last week with friends Sharon McEvoy and Anuj Gupta.Young, green, and eager they plunged into our jungle with a vigor that reminded me of my youth. They played hard and headed offshore and ripped it up with a Golfito grand slam….Marlin, sailfish, yellowfin and Mahi….They were fresh air and are welcome(and looked forward to)anytime on Thumper.
Update 1/1/12 : Added Video
About a week before our wedding, James and I attended a charity event, for our good friends. During that event there was a silent action, and a 2 day Fishing Trip in Costa Rica we thought could not be passed up…little did we know this couple we were talking and laughing the night away with were the owners of the boat! We knew at that moment after having the successful winning bid that it would be a trip of a lifetime! I don’t even think I can put into words the amount of fun or all the memories of our week long trip, from Latitude 8, the fajitas (ok multiple orders on the same night!), the raining ride through the mangroves, the amazing beach house and black volcanic beach, closing and being one of the first guests a soy e mar, Snickers (More about that later!) and of course the FISHING! The seas were rough, and sea sickness did occur (just me! lol)…but although I did rally to catch what I call the “girly pretty” fish, the sailfish with the most beautiful sail! Although my beaming face says it all in the photos catching the fish in the pouring rain with the whole crew cheering me on was an unbelievable rush and it still makes me smile from ear to ear! I was not the only one to catch a beauty during our trip, all 4 of us were successful! Ronnie and Beto were amazing! Thumper is a lucky girl having those 2 men on her side! A special thanks to Ronnie and Beto for teaching me the correct way to cut a pineapple! Thank you Harry for your incredible hospitality, we had so much fun laughing and trading stories with you at the marina those nights! And of course thank you for the SNICKERS! When the boys polished off those frozen snickers bars before I could have one…and thats all I was looking for….you saved the day! 🙂 I don’t think a snickers ever tasted so good before nor do I ever think I finished one so fast before! Ha! Harry I know I speak for James and I in saying thank you for this amazing adventure, we not only have great memories from our trip but a new friend! We looking forward to seeing you again soon!
